There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

What is your audience looking to gain from attending your webinar? The next few posts will cover 38 ideas to help you prepare your next webinar and keep your audiences engaged throughout.
In no particular order …
- Content: The topic of your webinar is key. What you say must speak to the audience, be relevant.
- Speakers: Presenters must be knowledgeable and about the subject matter, be able to provide new perspectives. They should also be easy to listen to, someone that the audience will connect with.
- Keynote speakers: Webinars provide an excellent opportunity to hear from an topic specialist or member of your senior leadership team.
- Special guests: Also consider having a client or charity partner join your discussion. They could provide a different perspective and added interest.
- Format: Being able to see the presenters in a video feed will always be more interesting for the audience than listening to them on an audio track.
- Schedule: Consider the structure and length of your programme. Average attention spans for events are 15-20 minutes, 1-2 minutes for videos.
- Graphics: Consider using a presentation. This will add visual interest, but keep it relevant, to the point. It should add to what you have to say, not replace or detract from it.
- Humour: Humour keeps people engaged, but this can be tricky, as not everyone finds humour in the same things.
- Discussion: having multiple speakers and a moderator can sound more natural and be more interesting for the audience.
